LIVING IN A DEAD POET'S SOCIETY.........

“The woods are lovely, dark and deep;
But I have promises to keep”

Wow, those eternal lines Of William Wordsworth! Sentences which makes no synchronisation when we only read them, sentences which have no congruence to each other’s cause, sentences which are casual and meaningless, but these are the sentences which, once felt, takes us to a world of subtlety and makes us realise the importance of poetry in our life! Why, life would be dull without music and poetry is a question that I always used to ask when I was a kid? But today amidst the busy and bulky schedules of life, when I look back, the one thing which provided me with the satisfaction of creation as well as encircled the emptiness of my life has been poetry! May be in the form of a silent music, may be in the form of a verse, poetry has truly encircled our lives and brought emotions which, otherwise, would never have been with human beings. It is true when they say poetry is an expression of unusual human feelings, unusual very true, but these are the feelings which make us to live and let live!

Now, why are we, a dead poets society? A question which you might ask me as a reader! Now, before the answer, another perspective, do you think we, as a conjugate society of this globe are giving the right impetus to poetry of life now a days! Are we not getting shrink when it comes to the idea of expressing ourselves! Understand, when I ask you, is the poetry of life dying because we are becoming dead souls!
Again, a question within a question would be what is the real poetry of life that I am emphasizing upon! And, how come we are ignoring it?

The poetry Of Life, the eternal Poetry, constitutes of anything and everything that makes a human life more expressive! Expressions have different meanings in different stages of our life cycle! From the first sweet-sour expression of an infant when he/she comes in the arms of his/her mother for the first time to the last breadth of an old men who has seen everything in life and now is mentally prepared to except death, all expressions, all feelings in every moment of our life is the real poetry of life. Remember, the first love we felt for someone when we were mere adolescent, to the feeling of the first failure, the first kiss, the first walking in the rain, the first break up and again patching up, the first real sad feelings, in everywhere, in every sphere, we are surrounded by music and poetry!

Now coming back to the context, we are getting restless! We are having no time though we thought technology will make our lives comfortable! We are becoming greedy, obnoxious souls chained in the prodigy of life and we have just forgot to live freely! The mentality , it self, has changed from broader to vague, as a society, that we can’t understand where true happiness is! Take this for an example, the other day, one friend of mine, was actually saying his view point about leaders getting self-obsessed within themselves. He meant, that, now a days, leaders have become soo rigid that they only enjoy the goal that they wish to achieve, but often ignore the process to reach there! And there goes missing the poetry that binds ourselves as a happy and creative society!

Lastly, I have often found out, happiness is in doing those small small things that actually make a difference! The other day, I came to know about a friend of mine who brought revolution inside the dampen villages by distributing pencils and papers to places which never have seen anything more than a slate and chalk. And the real leaders, are often happy people, doing their work silently, people may not recognise the contribution because it might not get highlighted, but the soul satisfaction, the soul searching is there. The effort is often more important than outcome. So when Mr William Wordsworth mentions :

“ And miles to go, before I sleep”

He mentions about the nascent innocence promises which were made, and the effort to recognise and fulfil them! Poetry has to be an instrument to happiness, not an excuse to happiness! That’s when we raise ourselves from being a dead poet’s society!
